Foothills Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at 130 North River Avenue, Buckley, Washington, 98321. The Foothills Historical Society was formed in 1921, and its mission is to collect, preserve and share historical records, photographs, artifacts, and other materials related to the history of Pierce County County, Washington.
The Foothills Historical Society operates a museum at the historic Buckley City Hall building. It also maintains a research library composed primarily of donated books on Buckley history. Buckley history books are available for sale.

The Foothills Historical Society’s collections include hundreds of photos, letters and documents, oral histories and oral history tapes, maps, newspaper clippings, and Pierce County County government records dating back to the 19th century. Foothills Historical Society is continually adding to their collections through donations from Pierce County County community members.
Several thousand items are on display at the Buckley Museum each year. These items tell the story of life in the area before it became a Pierce County county — who lived here and how they made their living; how the Pierce County County was explored and governed; what kinds of crops were grown; how Pierce County communities developed; how irrigation projects brought water to drylands; how telephone lines were erected across rugged terrain in Pierce County County; what types of businesses served residents here over time; how Pierce County people socialized in early communities; what kind of role.
