Spokane County Assessor’s Office Responsibilities

The Spokane County Assessor’s Office is responsible for appraising land and buildings for tax purposes.

The Spokane County Assessor’s Office uses three methods when doing property valuation. They include the following:

  1. The market value

It is the value the property would sell for in the Spokane County area compared to similar ones.

  1. Revenue value

The Spokane County property’s value is based on its revenue-generating potential in this method.

  1. Replacement value

The Spokane County property’s value is reached by calculating how much it would cost to restore a structure.

The property value in Spokane County County is one of the lowest in Washington State. The Spokane County county’s tax rate is at 2, but the amount of tax paid is on the lower side.

If you disagree with the value the Spokane County Assessor’s Office came up with, you can appeal to the Spokane County Board of Equalization. You should do this within 60 days after the change in value notification. You can also contact the Spokane County Assessor’s Office at 509-477-3698, fax atspokanecounty.org or website for more information.
