Rainier Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization located at 207 Centre Street, Rainier, Washington, 98576. The Rainier Historical Society was formed in 1919, and its mission is to collect, preserve and share historical records, photographs, artifacts, and other materials related to the history of Thurston County County, Washington.
The Rainier Historical Society operates a museum at the historic Rainier City Hall building. It also maintains a research library composed primarily of donated books on Rainier history. Rainier history books are available for sale.

The Rainier Historical Society’s collections include hundreds of photos, letters and documents, oral histories and oral history tapes, maps, newspaper clippings, and Thurston County County government records dating back to the 19th century. Rainier Historical Society is continually adding to their collections through donations from Thurston County County community members.
Several thousand items are on display at the Rainier Museum each year.
